| ATI Radeon support built in! You have to admit; the linux comunity usually comes through and cracks the tough nut. Case In Point: users with ATI's Radeon gfx cards had to try and use the ATI-official linux driver and hope it would install properly on their distro. So some guy who uses Puppy linux compiled it *in* so the rest of us could just use it *already* working: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/vie...142081&t=36567 Post subject: Puppy 4.1.2 for old Ati Radeon cards (update 12.12.2008) Freakin AWES0ME!!!! ^_^ -- http://www.care2.com/click-to-donate/wolves/ http://ltsaloon.org http://www.ramusa.org/ http://www.bartcop.com/list-the-facts.htm http://www.pavlovianobeisance.com/ |

Or DirectX XX hacked for the linux (without a support program). When the support for XP dies, I need an OS, the above should be ready by then - a lot of people are claiming to be working on the directx problem. One board says watch this space, last dated 2007 :} My video card has DirectX 10 hard coded in it, but it can't be upgraded (maybe a firmware update). MS has also changed the rules, taking off in another direction this midway thru DirectX10 now 10.1 - it will still be DirectX 10x and on, but with different rules (how it works). - http://www.techmixer.com/microsoft-d...l-directx-101/ So far the games I play and am purchasing (Modern Warfare 2) are still being released as directX 9.0c compatible. but with the release of Windows 7 that could change fairly soon. Modern Warfare 2 hasn't released it's required system requirements yet. I have to hope it's 9.0c, as I've already ordered it :) I do have a PS3. - The PS3 and Xbox still have the decency not to ask if you have your credit card handy each time you turn them on. -- You don't have to speak the language to enjoy this one http://tinyurl.com/y8t2caz |

Plus the xbox has an added feature of it being either a heater or explosive IIRC. AS for this linux I'm using: no decent media app to listen to streams was included. Didn't know the Xbox dual'd as a heater as well, I didn't turn the PS3 on when the air conditioner was running, as I figured it was just a trade off. As a side note: The game release of Modern Warfare 2 prestige version was to include working night vision goggles ($150 for the game) - Then last week the prestige version was only coming out for the Xbox, MW2 is going to be another Halo. Remember when Xbox was almost through? Nobody was buying them, then Halo 1 was released; Halo make the Xbox. Now it appears B.S. was called and Infinity Ward is including the prestige version for the PS3 as well.
