i need help figuring out LiVES gui interface

I'll buy anybody a frosted mug of beer if you can tell me how the heck to
display/insert audiotracks in a LiVES session. Lives is a non-linear video
editor for linux, when I look at the screenshot of it off sourceforge.net
or its home page it shows audio tracks as well as video tracks, looks like
audio can be dropped in such as for adding background music to a video.
But when I e.g. load an .avi video clip into LiVES I see just boring
horizontal lines (literally just lines) for the video and audio tracks and
I can find no way to insert/add an additional audio track for compositing,
etc. Anybody care to toss me a bone? I have gone through all the menu
options, tried right clicking, this just eludes me.

Yes I installed cinerella yesterday, also just downloaded live distro
Dynebolic which has cinerella on it-- rather nice btw. I also did sort
of a hack install of Jahshaka which is very interesting -- a bit
unusual interface but looks to be very powerful for video editing.
