Keyboard mapping bad in Fedora 5

I've done a search and cannot find anything regarding this problem.
When I hit the right arrow key in the terminal, I get this:

:^[/^[ ^[[3B^[[3C

or sometimes this:
n/ (and the cursor jumps to one of the menu bar items)

I tried changing the keyboard layout to Dell Precision M65 because
that's what I have - no difference. All other keys seem to work fine.
Any help greatly appreciated.
