Scribus

Just began playing with Scribus and hit the dreaded "Setup of Python
failed." I went to the Scribus site and found a plugin for "?" that was
supposed to fix the problem. However, there were no installation
instructions.

So, does anyone what file needs the patch to enable Scribus 1.3.3.6 to setup
Python?

Thanks

Deb

I have 1.2 running on Suse 10.0 seems like I found all the rpm pieces I
needed on

http://rpm.pbone.net

not sure what your distro is but that sight normally has most of the
dependecies covered.

In alt.os.linux Dr. Deb <dgfreeman@mon-cre.net>:

Dunno what you are running? Just checked it out on a box that had
not scribus installed. All needed was to enter 'yum install
scribus' and a few seconds later scribus (1.3.3.6) could be
powered up.

These are the dependencies rpm shows:

$ rpm -qR scribus
libICE.so.6()(64bit)
libSM.so.6()(64bit)
libX11.so.6()(64bit)
libXext.so.6()(64bit)
libart_lgpl_2.so.2()(64bit)
libc.so.6()(64bit)
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2.5)(64bit)
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.3.4)(64bit)
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.4)(64bit)
libcrypt.so.1()(64bit)
libcups.so.2()(64bit)
libdl.so.2()(64bit)
libdl.so.2(GLIBC_2.2.5)(64bit)
libfontconfig.so.1()(64bit)
libfreetype.so.6()(64bit)
libgcc_s.so.1()(64bit)
libgnutls.so.12()(64bit)
libjpeg.so.62()(64bit)
liblcms.so.1()(64bit)
libm.so.6()(64bit)
libm.so.6(GLIBC_2.2.5)(64bit)
libnsl.so.1()(64bit)
libpng12.so.0()(64bit)
libpthread.so.0()(64bit)
libpthread.so.0(GLIBC_2.2.5)(64bit)
libpython2.4.so.1.0()(64bit)
libqt-mt.so.3()(64bit)
libstdc++.so.6()(64bit)
libstdc++.so.6(CXXABI_1.3)(64bit)
libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4)(64bit)
libtiff.so.3()(64bit)
libxml2.so.2()(64bit)
libz.so.1()(64bit)
rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1
rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1

Note this is Fedora Core 5 on AMD64, hence the (64bit).
