Then added xorg and xfce4. No GDM, GNOME or OpenOffice. Abiword works fine as an editor but doesn't provide what MS Office doesn't provide Linux users - MS office document support. What I've done, when required, is open MS docs on the Desktop machine with OpenOffice, covert to a new RTF and put it on the lappy with an USB drive. Can do XLS with Gnumeric easily.
