Why not run hd diagnosis tools (smartctl, badblocks ...) to verify?
Is your kernel and the xfs version up-to-date?

Possibly. You did not forget to backup your interesting stuff from there? It
may be still time to do so, probably the next reboot will be a disaster.

Have you thought about trying smartmontools?

Do a search on xfs_dialloc and read some of the dialog including bug
reports.

Don't worry. I got it covered. I did xfs_check, xfs_repair and badblocks
on the XFS partition. Nothing. So the error might be related to RAM
if not the mm changes in kernel 2.6.25.9.

Better than xfs_check and xfs_repair?

Did it this morning. xfs_check, badblocks and xfs_repair. Nothing.
Possibly a RAM issue...

Fine. So you say the partition now works again?
Still, run "smartctl -a /dev/sdX" (substitute the X) for your harddrive and
watch the values.
If you install smartmontools, you may as well do scheduled hd checks and
have changes reported to your e-mail.

Is reading about others xfs problems 'better' than using xfs command line
tools? No way to compare the two since they are entirely different
diagnostic perspectives. I would imagine that reading up on the dialloc
dialog would eventually lead you to a more educated decision as to how to
pinpoint the xfs errors by reading what others have done.
