mgetty went defunct again.
`pstree` showed that it's parent is init.

cu -l /dev/ttyS0 dir
Stale lock .... on /dev/ttyS0 by process 31528
`ps aux` found no process with pid 31528
In the end, I re-booted.

OK, what better could have been done?
