Gnome Desktop

I am a long time KDE user and have just installed PCLinuxOS Gnome and like
the way it looks. I do have a question though, is there any Gnome app
comparable with the KDE Control Center?

For Gnome there is Control Center, but PCLinux uses Gnome2 which don't have any.

gconf, but it seems much closer to windows' regedit.

I personally hate how gnome hides these settings away like that.

Try this in a terminal

gnome-control-center

If that does it for ya, and there's no launcher, you'll now have
a means to make one by knowing the command.

This is one aspect where GNOME has just gone backwards. I'm still using
GNOME 1.x and have no intention of upgrading.

KDE on the other hand still maintains the same sense of configurability
as it has had in the past.
