It can be that your ISP thought it was spam and never delivered it to you, at least thats a problem I had with one forum and which I usually don't use forums as they are a lesser version of usernet. You may register an account at hotmail, turn the spam filter off as much as possible and register a new account. -- //Aho |

I will try your other approach using ssh and putty but I'd prefer to find out how the other people got this working on exactly the same machine Sony Vaio pcg505ts it's even in the official **** small linux book. |

This requirement makes it harder for bots to spam the forum. Funny, you've been banging on about this for a while now, but once you posted the actual error message it was obvious what the problem was. |

That is the problem, I signed up, got the activation message clicked on the link and typed in the code. I still wasn't activated after about a week. I assumed that someone had to do something else to activate things. So yesterday I signed up again and hopefully will get on the forum to get help. I know this machine can be used for DSL I just want the graphics setup. As to the banging on comment, what are you referring to? The setting up of DSL issue or the logging on to get targetted help? Hey, if I'm bugging people in this forum then say so. |

As I said, you probably need to participate before you will be able to start your own threads. > As to the banging on comment, what are you referring to? "Banging on" is a colloquial expression meaning that you are repeating yourself. > The setting up > of DSL issue or the logging on to get targetted help? The logging on to the forum problem. The point is, there's a lesson here, which is to post errors exactly as you get them. The error you quoted was far more useful in diagnosing the problem than your earlier statements about "can't post in the forum". > Hey, if I'm bugging people in this forum then say so. I'm not bugged or worried. Good luck, Mark |

You may not learn to use Linux but you can pick up a stalking tip or two. |
