| How can I rebuild Hardware RAID 1 volume? Hi all: I setup RAID-1 volume in CentOS 5.0 x86_64. Unfortunately we met a sudden power failure and one of RAID-1 seagate sata disk was damaged. So I replaced it with new one, which was also seagate brand and same volume size. I used INTEL 82801HR/HH/HO SATA RAID Controller. After replace, I selected the new hard drive for rebuilding. BIOS said "Rebuild in Operation System". I seemsIntel doesn't provide rebuild software for CentOS Linux. Intel only support Windows 2000/XP/Vista/ 2003. They provides : http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Prod...=2101&lang=zho My question is How can I rebuild RAID-1 data on Linux? I just want to keep my data on undamaged RAID-1 disk. Can I mount that undamaged RAID-1 disk , then save my data? Any suggestion? Thanks in advance. Regards, Chen Xueqin |

Are you sure you have used the hardware raid? For if you setup it in CentOS, then you most likely use software raid. In that case this page may be useful for you: http://www.sitearticles.com/index.ph...rintable&id=43 > My question is How can I rebuild RAID-1 data on Linux? To copy the data, you can use dd, this could make the raid card to get confused if you are using hardware raid. -- //Aho |
