Fedora 8 x86_64 KDE Live DVD image fubar?

Hey folks,

Anyone else having trouble with the Fedora 8 x86_64 KDE Live DVD image
downloaded from torrent?

I've blown it to DVD multiple times now (at the slowest possible speed)
and have ended up with a DVD that is recognized but has no label and shows
no data on it despite the burn process completing without errors.

Other DVDs, even Fedora DVDs from torrent images, are working fine.

Did Fedora release a bad image or have I been serving up a corrupt one?

Yep... sure enough. Deleted the old torrent, downloaded a freshy, ran the
SHA1SUM which checked out fine... burned it to a disk and got the same
result.

It's recognized like a disk that has data on it but has no label and no
data... like it's an ISO of an empty disk.

Anyone out there had different results?

Hi Ivan,
Mine worked fine just a couple of days ago (from memory from a Fedora
torrent tracker), but I gave up on it in favor of Mandriva 2008, since
Fedora-8-x86_64 had such miniscule fonts in e.g. Firefox that my three
score 10 old eyes could hardly read them.
Cheers

Sometimes the software I use (K3B) has trouble burning ISOs with a boot
record to DVD/CD. Grab Nero (yes they have a Linux version now) and try
that. If it doesn't work then download the DVD from a different source
and try again.

Later
Mike

Burned it with Nero... all the other disks work fine (i386 install, i386
Live, x86_64 install). Only the 64bit live disk is bad.

Can you confirm that you got yours off the torrent tracker posted on
fedora.redhat.com?

I can see it downloading corrupted once, but not twice. Very odd.

Hi Ivan,
No, I did not get it from fedora.redhat.com but from Linuxtracker, where
it was referred to as "Ext" for external. It did burn OK with K3b and
configured properly. However, I gave up on it since I had major problems
with the miniscule fonts in Firefox despite numerous attempts at
rectifying them.
Cheers
