I understand that the 70 chars thing began due to temninal screen widths. I consider it needed still if for one reason alone: the entire world isn't using the same tools (applications), OS or even a GUI. My thought is that even an 8 bit computer like a C=64 would have no trouble wrapping long lines at the time of reading. I'll still pre-wrap to be compatible with old software. Ben |
