On the other hand, the 770's > built-in WiFi is a very nice addition - I wish my Zaurus had that. I talked myself into getting the Nokia 770 today, tried to buy local but nothing so I went online and almost everyplace had the Nokia 770 for around $280US, then I got lucky and found it for $144US new with free shipping, sweet (problably being dumped from inventories because of the newer N800 and even a newer version around the corner, but I really like the anodized black look of the 770 as I have seen and held it). Also found an anodized black aluminum case for it online. It is going to look cool, very cool. And best of all it runs the Linux operating system, no fricken M$-Winblows on it whatsoever! It is going to be so much easier to this lightweight wifi unit into my pocket, bike to the wifi cafe, do my work online, bike home (I have to bike uphill 10 blocks coming home so not having to lug my heavy laptop is going to be a nice change). Looks like the OS version and such can be upgraded on the Nokia, so hopefully that will keep the flashplayer upgraded for surfing the net. Also has handwriting recognition, a virtual keyboard, pan and zoom, streaming audio off the web, I am quite excited at the notion of having a linux based handheld PC. (now if I can only get it to some of the stuff from the Fantastic Four movie, but that could take more than this one geek to accomplish such comic series magic!) ~Beowulf |

"who the **** cares?" -Dan C Now that part's a valid comment. :) "his post was about linux" -Dan N That's right. IMO :) His post had a "Trekkie feel" to it but we got room for that stuff too, ain't we? Alvin should shut the **** up in AZ? :) |
