You have uptime longer than a few hours? Then you have to reinstall to get rid of all the malvare, worms and viruses. You know, you are right, there is one linucks server (running apache) that does have great uptime its those homosexual nutcases at http://www.heavensgate.com/ they were so ashamed of their perversions that they castrated themselves great uptime guys! they all commited suicide, but the website keeps on going and going they loved their *nix apache and nix, all the way! eat the pudding guys! |

The only standards they have are their own arbitrary ones - standards that they can't even keep to themselves. Their "web server" is non compliant, their "web browser" is worse. Their implementation of SQL is non-standard, and fundamentally flawed. Their "Office" products are a joke - unstable, using proprietary filetypes, can't export, manipulate or import something as widespread as pdf, and stupidly expensive. microsoft 32 bit logo compliant standards IIS is totally 32 bit logo compliant MS SQL sets the standard for databases! and doc and rtf word documents can be opened by ANY word processor! ami pro wordperfect even the linucks word processors thats called OPEN, anyone can use it, no license required It's the PDF file that is a closed standard, you have to work out a license deal with adobe, to even open the file. or install acrocrap reader for christs sake, you cant even cut and paste! cut and paste is from before I was born! Gee, I guess you better read something about Alan Turing and computers, and the history of your culture before mouthing off your bigotted, homophobic beliefs. While you' re lecturing about "standards", maybe you could adhere to the usenet standards for line lengths or get a newsreader which wraps text properly? > > microsoft 32 bit logo compliant standards IIS is totally 32 bit logo > compliant Err, right. > MS SQL sets the standard for databases! > > and doc and rtf word documents can be opened by ANY word processor! > ami pro > wordperfect > even the linucks word processors > > thats called OPEN, anyone can use it, no license required Are you congratulating MS there? > > It's the PDF file that is a closed standard, you have to work out a > license deal with adobe, to even open the file. > or install acrocrap reader > > for christs sake, you cant even cut and paste! | Re: Closed Source Sucks (microsoft sucks) Richard Herb wrote: > all the college kids use windows *No.* Not if they're doing any course that involves the use of computers! Microsoft have tried to gain position in Universities and Colleges by selling reduced price rubbish to the institutions and the students. They have failed abysmally. Universities wouldn't run Windows Server if it was given to them (and in most cases it was!) Windows is rapidly becoming irrelevant. C. |

| Re: Open Source Sucks (Linux sucks) Richard Herb wrote: > You know, you are right, there is one linucks server (running apache) > that does have great uptime We /are/ right! /All/ the major websites in the world use Unix of some sort, and the most common webserver is Apache. There is a good reason for this: they are mature, stable and secure technologies and are entirely standards compliant. Even GWS (Google's own webserver technology) is based on Apache. Windows is just a poor proprietary client for a Unix world. C. |
