OK. I'm new to this website and figured maybe someone on here could help me with my problem. I don't even know if this is where you post questions or how this works. Anyway, My computer for some reason is not allowing me to open programs without going to choose it from a list or finding it off the web. Even though I do this i still cant open the programs. I tried do a system restore too but that also doesn't work. Its been like this for almost two weeks now and i still cant figure out how to solve this. I tried asking on yahoo but didnt get anything so i decided to try on a real website made just for these types of questions. Any information would be helpful please. I really want to use my computer again.

P.S. For some reason my internet still works but nothing else does. I installed Google Chrome before this happened so luckily this works but now all my icons on my desktop are the same google chrome icons. Please help me!!!

Hi, I am having the exact same issue, and this has been going on (getting progressively worse) over the past few weeks. I cannot open programs, cannot open task manager, cannot shut down - and yet I can access the internet. I have run spyware in safe mode but that did not help. I use Vista... any brilliant minds out there able to help?
