More Americans turning to Web for news

A new blog entry has been added:

More Americans turning to Web for news

Quote:
According to Reuters, the latest We Media/Zogby Interactive online poll shows an increase in Americans who get their news primarily from the web. Of course, these are people already online and who voted. Therefore, any results do not provide us with a causal relationship. Regardless, there are some take away messages.
  • 64% of the people cited dissatisfaction with journalism
  • People are interested in news
  • Older members of our society focus on major media outlets
Most interesting, though, is the following:
Howard Finberg, of the Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, Florida, said the public often doesn't understand that the sources they are accessing online such as Google News and Yahoo News pull stories from newspapers, television, wire services and other media sources.
I prefer to read major news sites and supplement the information with talk radio and talk television. But I have to admit that the talk television is really bad. The presenter bias is extremely annoying and makes listening that much more difficult. Online - I just click and am gone. On television - I just click and turn it off. How do you receive your news?

I prefer to read news on the Internet. It's much more easy than reading news in the newspapers. It gives public opinion and possibility to discuss a news. Some news appear in TV or newspapers from websites.
