Recreating certificates...

Hi,

If we have changed the ip address of a firewall or server which we
accessed via https, IE complains (rightfully) that the certificate does
no longer match and it advices us not to enter the site.

How can we in these cases recreate the certificate to get rid of this
warning? Which menu/setting...?

Thanks for help on this

regards

Jake

Assuming these are self generated certificates, you need to generate new
ones from the certificate creation software you used (eg. OpenSSL or
Microsoft Certificate Server).

Why are you using an IP address in the certificate? Use a FQDN, and set up a
DNS entry for that hostname to point to the appropriate IP address. That way
you can change the IP address on the firewall/server, change the DNS entry,
and continue to use the same certificate with the hostname used as that will
still match the request.
