Saving by pressing Ctrl+S

I'm using IE 8 and I observed that nothing happens when I press Ctrl+S. Now,
I know I can always use the Save as feature but since Ctrl+S is more or less
a universal key stroke combination for saving, I was wondering how the latest
version of IE doesn't have that. I mean, if the need is felt that the user
needs to select a file extension before saving then the Save As option could
have Ctrl+S as the keystroke combination. As of right now, I'm not sure
whether the Save As option has any keyboard shortcut attached to it. This
might not be a major hindrance, but it surely proves to be an annoyance at
times. Is there any simpler way of bringing back Ctrl+S to IE?
