Blacked out toolbars on IE 8

I have black toolbars on IE 8. It does not balck out the Google toolbars.
The blacked out bars show the graphic icons but not the text of the buttons.
I operate on Windows XP.

At the suggestion of someone this worked for me: Click Tools then General
then Colors and uncheck Windows colors. Then apply your color choice.
Since doing so no more reappearing black toolbars.

My remedy did not work for long. The black toolbar returned. Sorry for the
misinfo.
