| Re: IExplorer 8 crash Whenever you ask a question about Internet Explorer, please tell us: * what version of Internet Explorer you are using; and * what version of Windows you are using (with the service pack number). Do you have the same experience when you start Internet Explorer from the 'no add-ons' icon? If you have XP: Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons) If you have Vista: Start > type Internet Explorer in the Start Search box > click Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons) Or you can create a shortcut on your desktop with the following target path: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff Do you have the same experience after you have reset Internet Explorer settings? "How to Reset Internet Explorer Settings" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 Problems with Internet Explorer can also be caused by by malicious software ('malware') that you have unwittingly installed on your computer. Web pages that were developed for previous versions of Internet Explorer, or with proprietary HTML or scripting extensions, might not function the same way in Internet Explorer 8. Web developers need to test their web pages to identify compatibility issues with Internet Explorer 8, and redesign web pages that do not function properly. --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est Nader wrote: > I updated my Internet Explorer to 8 and the below error message occurs on > every other site. > > Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 8.0.6001.18702, faulting module > ntdll.dll > > > Any Idea? | Re: IExplorer 8 crash My explorer 8 in Vista is running without add ons as you suggested. Do i always have to run it this way forever? -- marianne dagher "Leonard Grey" wrote: > Whenever you ask a question about Internet Explorer, please tell us: > > * what version of Internet Explorer you are using; and > * what version of Windows you are using (with the service pack number). > > Do you have the same experience when you start Internet Explorer from > the 'no add-ons' icon? > > If you have XP: Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > > Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons) > If you have Vista: Start > type Internet Explorer in the Start Search > box > click Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons) > Or you can create a shortcut on your desktop with the following target path: > "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff > > Do you have the same experience after you have reset Internet Explorer > settings? > > "How to Reset Internet Explorer Settings" > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 > > Problems with Internet Explorer can also be caused by by malicious > software ('malware') that you have unwittingly installed on your computer. > > Web pages that were developed for previous versions of Internet > Explorer, or with proprietary HTML or scripting extensions, might not > function the same way in Internet Explorer 8. | Re: IExplorer 8 crash To determine which add-on is causing the problem: Open Internet Explorer (in 'no add-ons' mode), enable one add-on, re-start Internet Explorer, test. Everything okay? Enable another add-on, re-start Internet Explorer, test. So far so good? Enable a third add-on, then a fourth...until you finally arrive at the add-on that is causing the problem. Once identified, replace the offending add-on with a version that is compatible with IE 8. For the future: Before upgrading Internet Explorer, check whether your existing add-ons are compatible with the new version. And yes, the same applies to Firefox. --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est mariane wrote: > My explorer 8 in Vista is running without add ons as you suggested.
