Internet Explorer Transparent GIF Problem

Internet Explorer 8 does not display transparent GIF images correctly. You
can see this when you create HTML templates via Adobe Fireworks. Spacer.gif
files are displayed as dark gray.

Is there a solution to this problem?

I thought it may be best to use IE 7 since that problem did not persist in
that version.

Thanks

Re: Internet Explorer Transparent GIF Problem

Hi Sammy,

Yeah sure?

A link to a sample test page would be helpful.

Works in 7 but not in 8 - suggests that you are applying filters to the gif.
Your templates are probably not IE8 ready if they have not been updated
since April of this year.

Regards.

Re: Internet Explorer Transparent GIF Problem

I am having the same problem on a major table-based website. Are there any known workarounds? I don't want to delete the transparent spacer gif entirely, since many users are still on IE6. (I'm on a corporate network at work that has some sort of IE6 hybrid.) IE7 was never a problem. The site rendered just fine in IE6 and 7, but with 8, I get the grey lines.
