| IE8: mouse click sends page to bottom I am still being driven bonkers by a new feature? in IE: an inadvertent mouse click near the left or right margins suddenly scrolls the page to the bottom, or, occasionally, the top. I can't figure out how it works, and there seems to be no way to turn it off. I can't install this on my wife's or mother's computers; they will revolt. I am operating Vista Ultimate 32, with a Logitech laser mouse and the latest Logitech mouse software. Is there, please, a way to turn this bug? off? David Salmon |

| Re: IE8: mouse click sends page to bottom Since the beginning of Windows (and probably before), when you click on the vertical or horizontal scroll bar, the cursor jumps to a position roughly equivalent to your place on the scroll bar. --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est David Salmon wrote: > I am still being driven bonkers by a new feature? in IE: an inadvertent > mouse click near the left or right margins suddenly scrolls the page to > the bottom, or, occasionally, the top. | Re: mouse click sends page to bottom Hi, This is not an IE8 feature. It's a compatibility issue between your Logitech software and IE8. Look through the options/settings in Control Panel> Mouse for any feature which might be causing this- perhaps an auto-scroll feature or a set focus feature? If your family members are using other mice, they will probably not see this problem. Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "David Salmon" <dsalmon@salmon.org> wrote in message news:%23LTlmXG5JHA.1712@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > I am still being driven bonkers by a new feature? in IE: an inadvertent > mouse click near the left or right margins suddenly scrolls the page to the > bottom, or, occasionally, the top. | Re: mouse click sends page to bottom Good advice, and I found the problem: the scroll wheel has ability to do two additional things, depending on whether I press the wheel down and to the left or right, which turned out to be either PageUp or PageDown. I switched those buttons to Do Nothing and predict I will have no more problems. Thank you.
