"Read Mail" doesn't pull up outlook

My OS is XP (up to date), just loaded Explorer 8. Access and defaults
doesn't show Office Outlook, so it's set to use my current. I click the
"read mail" button and nothing happens. It will pull up Outlook Express when
I have it enabled. Is outlook suppose to work via explorer?

Internet Explorer 8 uses Windows' default email application.

Yes, but you have to go back through the start/properties menu and
re-establish outlook after you load explore 8. I just ran across that thread
and it fix this issue. If you don't do that, explore doesn't see it as the
default.

Is Outlook (OL) installed? If so, what version is it (e.g., OL 2003 SP3)?

Re: "Read Mail" doesn't pull up outlook

If OL had been the default and you installed IE8 properly, you shouldn't
have had to do anything.

Re: "Read Mail" doesn't pull up outlook

IE 8 recognized Outlook 2002 as my default e-mail program from the very
first day. I didn't have to do a thing.
