| Lost Tool Bar after Fixing Run Time Error Went to Microsoft Support kb/822521 to fix Run Time Error message: "Runtime Error! Program E:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe This application has rquested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information." Ran the program to fix the problem. However, my tool bar is gone and I can't find a way to restore it. (I started asking about this on IE6 but remembered I had IE7 Service Pak 2, and was told to use IE General. Thanks. -- Thank you. June |

| Re: Lost Tool Bar after Fixing Run Time Error Hi, The fix in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822521 should only have disabled warnings about debugging and script errors. It doesn't actually fix runtime errors. The runtime error and the missing toolbar are probably being caused by a third-party browser add-on. Start Internet Explorer without add-ons from: Right-click the IE icon on the desktop. Choose Start without add-ons. or Programs> Accessories> System tools> Internet Explorer (no add-ons) If the problem goes away, you have an incompatible browser add-on installed. For troubleshooting information see: 928426- Internet Explorer 7 may exit immediately when it includes an add-on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928426 More at: Problem: Crashes or hangs http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "June" <June@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:D50D89C6-BFE3-4DB4-A5D8-C7C41D1C5CFA@microsoft.com... > Went to Microsoft Support kb/822521 to fix Run Time Error message: "Runtime > Error! | Re: Lost Tool Bar after Fixing Run Time Error Don, thanks so much, it worked. Got the menu/tool bar back including File, Edit, etc. Disabled all ad-ons and enabled one at a time, omitting some things I didn't understand or didn't think I needed. (What is Yapta?) But no Run Time or Close All Tab problems occurred, so maybe 822521 fixed the Run time problem. Don't really know, as it occurs infrequently. MSN and Yahoo pop-ups both offered new Toolbars-- Should I install either one? Also, it's still taking too long to open links and things such as the "Expand All option at the bottom of this discussion page. Maybe I should delete more add-ons, but I don't know what they are. Thanks. -- Thank you. June "Don Varnau" wrote: > Hi, > The fix in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822521 should only have disabled > warnings about debugging and script errors. | Re: Lost Tool Bar after Fixing Run Time Error Hi, What's Yapta? http://www.yapta.com/ Research other add-ons with www.live.com or www.google.com > MSN and Yahoo pop-ups both offered new Toolbars-- Should I install either > one? You should only install one of these, or another, toolbar if it has one or more features that you want. I think that the "Expand all" link at http://www.microsoft.com/communities...plorer.general is simply slow regardless of the browser or add-ons.
