redirecting to foreign search

my msn live search and google both redirect me to the french language page
even though i typed in the address as .com correctly. i have checked my
language options and they are set as US English. i can change it temporarily
but when i leave IE and come back on, it still redirects me. this just
started happening yesterday so i downloaded IE8, and it is still happening.
please help!!!
