Re: c r a p internet explorer

Hi mc,

It sounds like you have installed IE7 for the first time on an XP machine?

Do you have the AOL toolbar installed? (It sounds like it is taking you to
the AOL homepage after the browser starts at the "customize your settings
page").

If so start IE in no-Addons mode first (Start>(All)
Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Internet Explorer(no Addons). This will
start IE with the AOL toolbar disabled and will go the "customize your
settings page" (this is the first page that loads on a new install), where
you will be able to make the once only change to your (new) IE7 settings.
(Turn on the Phishing filter etc.). IE7 needs to do this as it has different
settings to that of IE6.

Once you have done that you should then be able to start IE7 normally with
the AOL toolbar enabled.

You may want to check with the AOL toolbar download site if there is an
update for their toolbar for IE7.

http://toolbar.aol.com/

If you have installed IE8 beta 1, then you will have to uninstall the AOL
toolbar as at this stage it is not compatible with IE8.

Regards.
