IE 7.0.6000.16575 vs 7.0.6000.166xx

I have a form: http://www.idleinc.com/dev/index.php

I am using IE 7.0.6000.1575 and it works perfectly.

My customer however is using a LATER version (7.0.6000.166xx) and when he
clicks the calendar, the boxes it covers disappear and then he has to go back
and reenter the data.

Someone using 7.0.5xxxx tried it and while the boxes disappear, when they
click on a date on the calendar (and the calendar then goes away) the boxes
reappear and still have the data filled in.

Why is a later version working worse than previous versions? And what can I
do?

Thanks,
/Wendy

Back up, please.

> I am using IE 7.0.6000.1575

Please check that IE version again (IE Help | About).

Also tell us the version of C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE
<=this file.

If your customer has v7.0.6000.16681, his Vista Gold machine is fully
patched at Windows Update. You might be running a beta build of Vista or
your machine may not be fully patched.

IE7 v7.00.5xxx (e.g., v7.00.5730.1100 and higher) is a WinXP SP2 or Win2003
version of IE7, so you may be comparing apples & oranges.

All versions above refer to x32-bit versions of Windows.

It's right in the subject line, sorry, I left off the 6 - .16575 in the text.

file version is the same: 7.0.6000.16575

OK, so the fully patched machine DOESN'T work and mine does. That's not good.

Yes, this person is running Windows XP. The client and I are running Vista.

OK, now we have the version thing all figured out. Why is the newer release
NOT WORKING? It seems like 7.0.5 had some problems, but 7.0.6 came out and
fixed them and now later releases of 7.0.6 have broken them even worse than
before.

I can't have the site tell everyone with 7.0.6000.16xxx to upgrade to .18xxx
for this one site.

Is there something I can do in Javascript to compensate for whatever the
latest bug fixes broke?

/Wendy

Please have the courtesy to quote my entire reply. Thank you.

Guess my CrystalBall© wasn't working.

Is your Vista machine now fully patched? If not, you're wasting your time
troubleshooting this until you do (i.e., Do you see the same behavior after
getting the machine fully patched?).

PS: You might also tell us what calendar you're referring to and where it's
located. If it's on a webpage, cite the URL.

Did I say Vista SP1, Gordon?? With all due respect, your OT nit-picking of
my replies is getting irksome.

Only trying to help. If you think I'm nit-picking then so be it. Did the OP
mention Vista GOLD? NO!

OP cited IE7 versions that could only be associated with Vista Gold.
