Unable to log on to the net

Hey,
I am having huge issues with trying to access the net. I am now only to
access this via safe mode, however then I am unable to use any media
programmes etc. There appears to be numerous issues with the computer since
having vista installed. Are you able to assit me with this?

Re: Unable to log on to the net

Hi Noni,

This is a News Group for Internet Explorer. You are best advise to return
your computer to the store where you purchased it from and have Vista
installed professionally, especially if you are upgrading from an earlier
version of windows.

A lot of toolbars that worked in XP for IE6 are incompatible on Vista and
IE7.

To test if this is the case, start Vista normally and then right click on
the IE icon on your desktop. You should see an option in the drop-down menu
for "No-Addons Mode". Selecting this will start IE7 on Vista in no Addons
mode (Toolbars and Browser Helpers disabled).

Alternatively you can start IE7 in no Addons mode from the Start>(All)
Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Internet Explorer (no Addons) menu.

If IE then works and you are able to connect to the Internet (If Vista does
not connect a working internet connection then it should automatically try
to connect you), then you know it was an incompatible Addon that was causing
the problem.

Use the "Programs and Features" applet (replace the Add/Remove Programs
applet) in the Control Panel to uninstall any toolbars or Browser Helpers
you have installed, or check with the vendors for software updates.

You can also disable toolbars and Browser helpers on the Advanced tab of
Internet Options - Uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions"

Regards.
