| AutoFill & AutoComplte Running Visa Home Prem 32Bit. I have 2 PC's each running Visa Home Prem 32bit. and IE7. On my older PC, when I go to a Webpage that requires information to be entered, a dropdown Window opens providing selection...you click on the correct one and it saves a lot of typing. This is so for forms that need to be completed as well as User ID's (however....it does NOT and properly so do this for Passwords--I save No Passords) Now although I am not sure, seems there are 2 features....AutoFill and AutoComplete....I am not sure if these are the same or different. Please advise. I have gone into IE7, TOOLS\ INTERNET OPTIONS...Content Tab...AutoComplete on my new PC and all Boxes are checked. I unchecked them, and rechecked them. My New PC won't offer or display any text as does my older PC. For instance, on my older PC when I go to a Site that requires ID/Password, when I click into ID Box, a dropdown opens displaying my ID so I can click on it saving me time to type it. Or, when I am completing a form at a Website that requies my Name, address, etc, my older PC will open a list providing selections to click on to fill the Form. Again, my new Vista PC.....does not offer the above features even after I checked in IE7 Tools and all boxes in AutoComplete are checked. How do I get these time saving features working? |

| Re: AutoFill & AutoComplte Hi, AutoFill is a feature of the Google toolbar- AutoComplete is the Internet Explorer feature. From IE> Tools> Manage add-ons, disable any Google add-ons (there may be several.) Close/re-open IE. Any change in AutoComplete behavior? Does AutoComplete work if you start IE with all add-ons disabled? Start IE without add-ons from: Right-click the IE icon on the desktop. Choose Start without add-ons. or Programs> Accessories> System tools> Internet Explorer (no add-ons) Next, in Internet Options> Content> AutoComplete, uncheck all AutoComplete options. Click on "Delete AutoComplete history. Close/re-open IE and re-enable all options. Also, from Start> Run, type in gpedit.msc. Does Policy Editor open? Try steps 1 & 2 at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306895 Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "denmarfl" <denmarfl@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:59BC799E-8BEF-4351-B4EC-E4D6061CA3F5@microsoft.com... > Running Visa Home Prem 32Bit. | Re: AutoFill & AutoComplte I think part of the problem...is me! Perhaps I am confused as to what feature does what? I looked at my Add-Ons...there was NO Google items listed. I unchecked items in AutoComplete, deleted all uner the General Tab, restarted IE...rechecked all in AutoComplete, restarted IE7, no difference. My OS Visa Home Prem 32bit SP1....I went to SERVICES.....saw Protected Storgae, it shows STARTED...Manual. As an example of what is not taking place on my New PC, that takes place on my Older PC, ....when I would go to Dell.com and start to enter my User ID to logon to My Account.....my ID would appear in a drop down Window and I would simply click on and it would populate the Block.....then I only needed to type in my Password. This is not happening. "Don Varnau" wrote: > Hi, > AutoFill is a feature of the Google toolbar- AutoComplete is the Internet > Explorer feature. | Re: AutoFill & AutoComplte Hi, 1. Try the Reset IE Settings button in Internet Options> Advanced. 2. Internet Options> Privacy, try a cookie setting of Low. 3. Have you installed a third-party security/privacy program which manages cookies or clears History, Temporary Internet Files or other data automatically?
