must use CTRL to open links in Internet Explorer

I can't figure out what is set wrong on my computer. I am running a PC with
Vista. Every time I click on a link I have to also click the CTRL button at
the same time for the link to open. If I don't use CTRL I just a sound and a
little yellow star thing with an ! in it (I think that's waht it is. The
symbol doesn't stay long.) But that's it, it won't open a window or another
tab with the link in it.

I have searched the internet and cannot find out why this is doing this.

Can someone help, please?

Chris

Re: must use CTRL to open links in Internet Explorer

1- Start IE 7 with no add-ons. If the problem no longer occurs, one (or
more) add-ons was causing the problem.

For Windows Vista: Type Internet Explorer in the Start Search box >
click Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons)

2- Reset IE 7 to its original configuration. If the problem no longer
occurs, one (or more) incorrect configuration settings was causing the
problem.

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > under Reset Internet Explorer
Settings, click Reset.

Note: If you want to continue to use any of your add-ons after a reset,
you may have to reinstall them.
