Hello Folks!

Well, I don't have any major problems on my computer, but it does seem to
irritate me quite a bit when my explorer deson't close after I finish using
the browser! I din't have this problem before, i.e when I had SP 2, Windows
XP Professional 2002!

Just recently, I saw a high priority update to upgrade to Windows XP SP 3,
and I did so, but as soon as I did that, the IE 7 doesn't seem to close
itself after I click the close button! Everything else is perfectly fine!
Kindly help me out, if you know what to do!

=> Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode? To start
IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

1. Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons;
or

2. Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer
(No add-ons).

=> Does the problem persist if you Reset IE7 Advanced settings (RIES)?

Well yes, The problem seems to be solved when IE 7 is run in no add-on's
mode! What should I do, to make it run normally this way! Should I uninstall
the toolbars?

Also, there is another problem I noticed, the list of websites I browse
doesn't seem to be there for faster access the next time I open IE 7, they
seem to vanish everytime I close the explorer! However when I start typing
those addresses again, there are references given below to click on, but no
listing whatsoever!

Un-installing of toolbars seemed to have solved the problem, and IE 7 is
running fine in the normal mode as well!

does this mean that toolbars could be the culprits instead of the addons in
certain cases?

An add-on for this purpose is an application that adds new functions to
Internet Explorer. A toolbar is an add-on.
