Toolbar keeps showinga Software Update...which is blank...looks like a ie

How dow I get rid of this?

I miswrote earlier...on toolbar is icon for something calledSOFTWARE MANAGER
it seems to be empty

Sorry, but without hands-on access to your machine I have no way of
identifying what software update (via the legit Install Shield Update
Service) is being offered or why it's icon is present in the (IE) toolbar.

No.

res://ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff_webOC.htm => this is merely saying that
the server from which the update would be offered cannot be found (DNS
error)

InstallShield/UpdateService => this is the (legit) application offering the
update

toaster.htm => this is the little pop-up (think: slice of toast) in your
taskbar (not the IE toolbar) notifying you of the availability of the update

here's what i found out about this because I was getting the same thing. I have a Dell 1525 special edition laptop and just started getting the same message you have. It was a updater for roxio cd creator program, so this is a real updater not a virus or such
