| IE Resolution seems changed after windows update Hi, Looks to me that everything in IE suddenly seems smaller than it used to be. I am not sure if this has to do with fthe recent Windows update or the fact that i reset my browser to default settings. I have a Dell Precision with the resolution of 1920 x 1200. DPI is set to 120. How it used to be: A webpage used to be displayed with an ok size when using IE. When i viewed the same webpage in Firefox it used to be very small. After the Windows upgrade as stated above, the webpage is now very small, it is now the same size as Firefox always has been. I really want IE back to how it used to be. So my question is, does this has to do with the Windows update, or is it some kind of addon i am missing in IE after i reset the browser ? And what can i try to get it back to this look ? D |

| Re: IE Resolution seems changed after windows update Hi, Windows XP or Vista? IE7? A quick scan of the Dell website suggests that a Precision could be either a laptop or desktop computer. If it's a laptop, try a DPI setting of 96. To me, everything would be *very* small with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. Are you actually running that resolution, or is that the max? Have you tried another resolution setting? Are Internet Explorer windows opening small so that horizontal scrolling is often necessary when viewing webpages? | Re: IE Resolution seems changed after windows update I have a laptop. If i set the DPI to 96 it gets sooooo incredible small that i almost cannot read it. I am actually running this resloution, so you are right that everything is quite small, but not to small. I have not tried another resolution cause i like it like this when having multiple windows open. It gives me a good working space. But, as stated, websites in IE used to be bigger than it is now. I find it small and kind of messed up now. Some websites are also shown with the text overlapping, like the frames of the site is to small for the text.... ?? IE opens ok, horisontal scrolling is not necessary. I could have included a picture of how it used to be and how it is now, but i cannot find a way to upload images here. Is it possible? | Re: IE Resolution seems changed after windows update 1. When did you install IE7? 2. What anti-virus application or security suite is installed? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)? 3. Is Automatic Updates enabled? 4. Please to go http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com | Select 'Review your update history' in left-hand menu | What updates were installed on or after 08 April 2008 (other than Windows Defender updates, if installed)? 5. If you close all IE windows, uninstall "Security Update for Windows Internet Explorer 7 (KB947864)" via Add/Remove Programs and reboot, does the behavior persist? -- ~PA Bear Jeanette wrote: > Widows xp, sp2.
