| Dealing with Adobe FlashPlayer I have a love-hate relationship with this program. Nineteen times out of twenty, it annoys me by superposing inane commercial videos over web pages I'm trying to read. But the twentieth time I want to watch a specific video which I've selected. I've tried the nuclear option - uninstalling the program, then reinstalling it for the "twentieth" situations. But that's a royal pain. So I'm wondering if there's a way to simply prevent it from loading except when I want it. Please advise -- PT |

For Internet Explorer, I recommend TurnFlash: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/tflash2.html |

| Re: Dealing with Adobe FlashPlayer And the best solution is . . . . . . IE7Pro http://www.ie7pro.com/ "IE7Pro is a must have add-on for Internet Explorer, which includes a lot of features and tweaks to make your IE friendlier, more useful, secure and customizable. IE7Pro includes Tabbed Browsing Management, Spell Check, Inline Search, Super Drag Drop, Crash Recovery, Proxy Switcher, Mouse Gesture, Tab History Browser, Web Accelerator, User Agent Switcher, Webpage Capturer, AD Blocker, Flash Block, Greasemonkey like User Scripts platform, User Plug-ins and many more power packed features. You can customize not just Internet Explorer, but even your favourite website according to your need and taste using IE7Pro." Check it out, it does it all. With Flash, if you select to "Turn off Flash" any Flash that appears has a "Show Flash" clickable link inside the Flash box. The best solution. ju.c "PT" <xyz@xyz.com> wrote in message news:eTjfQvYoIHA.3804@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... >I have a love-hate relationship with this program. It has numerous enhancements, inlcuding a flash blocker, that can be toggled from the menu or you can add a button to toggle it. Avant can be found here: http://www.avantbrowser.com/ |

| RE: Dealing with Adobe FlashPlayer The ads drove me nuts too what I do is click tools , manage add-ons ,Enable or disable add-ons then disable shockwave flash This works for Vista or XP For the times you want flash working just enable it again. As ju.c says IE7Pro is good but I have found some adds still get past it well worth having though as it has lots of good features "PT" wrote: > I have a love-hate relationship with this program.
