| Re: IE 7 & Java I have one website in particular that uses Java. When I try to use it with IE7 it fails but works OK with Firefox. I have another computer where it works Ok with both IE and Firefox. Seeing that Java appears to run Ok with Firefox but not IE7 I suspect that some setting in IE7 has changed which does not allow Java to run under IE7. | Re: IE 7 & Java Hi, 1. Try clearing the Temporary Internet Files. 2. Clear the Java cache from Control Panel> Java> Temporary Internet Files (they really shouldn't call them that)> Settings> Delete files. 3. Is a third-party security program blocking Java as active content, scripting, etc? | Re: IE 7 & Java The website http://www.jigzone.com/puzzles/2008-03-21-0B2502D9C0B0 I get the following message instead of the puzzle that is supposed to load: "Oops, the puzzle has failed to start in a reasonable time. This could happen if your are no longer connected to the internet or your computer has problems displaying Java applets" I have checked the Java settings in IE7 and go to Java.com and installed the latest java to no avail. On this system Java downloads the puzzle ok with Firefox. On 2 other systems using XP both Firefox and IE7 work correctly. | Re: IE 7 & Java Did that. Solution Java won't work with IE7. When I go to Java.com and check the install I don't get confirmation it is installed with IE7. But works fine with Firefox. | Re: IE 7 & Java I tried reinstalling Java and get the following message: "If you encounter an error, check the top of the browser (see image above) for a yellow bar that reads "This site might require the following ActiveX control: J2SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 5 from 'Sun Microsystems, Inc.'. Click here to install..." Click the yellow bar and choose "Install ActiveX Control..." to allow installation to proceed." It shows a yellow bar which is not appearing on my browser.
