| Dialup Connection Box keeps popping up I am using IE7, running Vista Home Premium, on Gateway with Intel D Processor 935, 2gigs of memory and an additional 2 gigs on a flash chip dedicated to flash memory. This problem just recently started. When I click on any link when the browser is open it hesitates, seems to not find the link and then up pops the dialup box asking if I want to work offline or use a dialup connection. I am using Time Warner cable modem connection. The modem is working fine. I have to close the dialup box, then click on tools dropdown menu, then "uncheck" the work offline selection. Then, if I "refresh" the browser, it immediately goes to the correct page. It does this 3 out of 4 times when I click on any link on any browser page I have opened. Meanwhile, all other internet connections NOT using IE7 work perfect all the time so I know it is not the modem or internet connection. I have virus scanned the computer, none found. I have cleaned off old programs, ran a spyware and root check, no problems. I've even done the defrag to make sure all is fine. I made sure there is nothing in the msconfig file that shouldn't be there in the startup tab. Any ideas of what might be making IE7 think it does not have a connection? BTW, I do not run a firewall, so that's not it. sorry for all the detail, but wanted to supply as much info as possible and what I've already tried to eliminate that dialup box from popping up. It's done it three times just here on this site while I was trying to post this help question. Thanks in advance to any help. Allen |
