Choose network

Each time I am connected to the internet Windows asks me to choose a network
and assigns a new number to this connection.
Is there a way to to set a default network to avoid this?

Can you be more specific? What do you mean by "assigns a new number to this
connection" WHAT new number"?

Re: Choose network

Windows asks me to 'Select a Network Location', for example 'Public'.
My ISP is called '3', so Windows will call that connection '3 1'. The next
time I connect it will call it '3 2' & etc;, I am presently on '3 57'!
Is this a normal state of affairs?

When you say "3", is this the mobile phone network "3"?

Re: Choose network

That's right; it's '3 mobile broadband' Pay As You Go internet connection
provided by the 3 mobile phone network.
It works via a 'dongle' that you plug into a USB port.

Well I've never heard of any windows version creating a new connection
every time the internet is accessed. I still think you need to talk to 3
tech support...
