IE7 won't save a file if too many tabs are open

There are times when I right click on a file link, select Save As, and
nothing happens. The file save as dialog doesn't even show up.

It seems to be a function of how many IE Windows I have open and the number
of active tabs.

It happens quite often that I will have 3 or 4 IE windows open with 5 to 10
tabs in each. Around this point, the Save As stops working.

Once it happens, I can get it working again by closing all the IE windows.
But that isn't so useful, because I lose where I was.

I am running Vista Ultimate with 2GB of ram and 80GB free on the disk.

Re: IE7 won't save a file if too many tabs are open

hello this is a security limit of ie trying to limit the amount of
connections it has

you can do one of these:

download IE7PRO http://www.ie7pro.com/
that has a maximum connections per server setting (see screenshot
http://wiki.ie7pro.com/index.php/IE7...indow_Settings

OR use a download manager

www.freedownloadmanager.org
