redirecting

Often, when I am prompted to enter a login/password for a website, I get the
warning:

"If you are seeing this page, your browser settings prevent you from
automatically redirecting to a new URL. "

All I want to know is HOW to change my browser settings so that it won't
prevent this?
I went through TOOLS and looked in advanced to see why this is happening.
Couldn't find anything. Very aggravating problem. I don't find this problem
with FIREFOX.
BTW, I use Vista on a Lenovo T60p. I once cleared my settings to try and fix
this and it did, but as I prefer add-ons and features, it inevitably returns
to this problem. I also have IEPro installed.

You can't. IE has a new security feature. It takes you directly to the
information you don't want.

How well do you understand UAC and Protected Mode in Vista?

Re: redirecting

probably not well enough? you mean protected mode has something to do with
redirecting in IE7? i usually mark the particular sites as trusted (if it is
an https site).

it isn't like i am trying to open up some application, just moving from one
website to another (as benign as yahoo or even a microsoft site). is there
any way to keep protected mode from interfering with this?

Re: redirecting

Yes (e.g., you cannot navigate from a http:// page to a https:// page in the
same IE window, and vice versa).
