Internet Explorer needs to open a new window to display this webpage

Hi,

My UserAgent string -
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; Maxthon; Avant Browser;
Gogo Explorer 3.x; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; .NET CLR
3.0.04506; .NET CLR 3.5.21022)

Internet Explorer needs to open a new window to display this webpage
For your computer's security, websites that are in different security zones
must open in different windows.

Q. Anybody know if this can be turned off? Short of removing trusted sites?
Have looked on the Advanced tab or IO.

Regards.

That's default behavior in Vista with IE running in Protected Mode, Rob.

Re: Internet Explorer needs to open a new window to display this webpage

Hi Bear,

I should have realized better.

I heard a presentation by Steve Riley (MSFT) at a UG recently in which he
outlined security considerations. I was left with a conviction to accept MS
wisdom and ensure patches are applied automatically.

Ok. I've worked it out.

I had protected mode turned on in the Internet Zone and off in the Trusted
Zone.

Turning on Protected Mode for the Trusted zone allowed sites from different
security zones to open in the same window/tab.

Thx.
