| "Open links from other programs" option does not work I have a program which opens Internet pages in IE7. In Vista it opens new pages in tabs of single IE. In XP it creates new IE window for each page. "Open links from other programs" option in both cases set to "New Tab". Please, advise. |

| Re: "Open links from other programs" option does not work You're not running WinXP anymore. If the open IE window is displaying a page in, e.g., Internet zone and the page you want to open runs in a different zone, e.g., Secure Sites, a new window is invoked by default. If the open IE window is displaying a https:// page and you're attempting to open a http:// page, a new window is invoked by default. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ arbitr@sbcglobal.net wrote: > I have a program which opens Internet pages in IE7. | Re: "Open links from other programs" option does not work I disabled the *Tabs* in IE7 soon after getting it as I didn't care for them. So, I don't know if this will help or not. Some people using IE6 & IE7 had the problem where clicking on a link opened IE without a problem, but clicking on a second link reused the same window. the fix I have was to open in multiple windows. Perhaps from this you can rearrange it as per the OP's wishes. To open and minimize more than one link in OE at the same time, first close Outlook Express: In Internet Explorer: Tools | Internet Options | Advanced. Uncheck: Reuse windows for launching shortcuts. Close all programs. In Windows Explorer, or the Control Panel: Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types. Scroll down to {NONE} Internet Shortcut and select it. Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version. Select 'open'. Click Edit. Uncheck: Use DDE Reopen OE and it should now open more than one link at a time. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "PA Bear [MS MVP]" <PABearMVP******.com> wrote in message news:%23lO$lbnWIHA.5348@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > YW.
