Hi,
With the warning that a reset will delete stored passwords, did you try
Reset IE Settings?

I'm puzzled that this problem would occur on other machines unless the same
(third-party) security program is installed and is causing the problem.

GMail makes liberal use of Javascript. Is JavaScript working?
