Re: connection to server was reset.

1. After making certain you have a copy of your Product Key, uninstall all
Norton software via Add/Remove Programs.

2. Enable the Windows Firewall.

3. Run this removal tool:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...05033108162039

4. Immediately install the 30-day free trial version of, e.g., NOD32* or
KAV7**

5. Manually update your new anti-virus application then run a full system
scan.

Do your problems persist now?

[Don't forget to subscribe to your new AV app or uninstall it then reinstall
the Norton application before the free-trial period expires! Should you
decide to reinstall the Norton application, I recommend not installing any
Norton Add-ons for a while.]

Re: connection to server was reset.

Thanks for your feedback. Sounds like it may have been a network issue
outside of the machine.

RE: connection to server was reset.

Hi, I am having a similar issue. I subscribe to a legal paid music download
site called "mp3fiesta" and suddenly I cannot download any songs from it at
all. I keep getting this message "cannot download the connection to the
server was reset" I also did the research and did stuff like uncheck the FTP
thing under Internet Options, I turned my firewall off, but nothing worked I
still cannot download from mp3fiesta.com. What should I do, I don't have
Norton I have Kaspersky. Should I do what Dragon had to do with Norton
uninstall kaspersky, or what?

RE: connection to server was reset.

Hi,

So am I (having the same problem). And I really hope someone can help with a
solution.

I bought a new laptop two weeks ago with IE7 pre-installed on it. Since the
first day, I couldn't download anything: iTunes, free Antivirus such as Avast
or AVG, or movie clips etc. Nothing at all. This is a big problem obviously,
and I'm about to loose it.
Have tried all of the steps PA Bear referred to in the above posts, but
nothing solves my problem. I also have a general connectivity problem, so
that I randomly will get
the message that IE could not show the requested site.

Norman Antivirus which came with installation cd, and from the very
beginning it seemed to lack some important component it kept telling me (I
had to pay for a subscription to get this higher level of protection -I
couldn't be bothered as I was gonna download Avast for free).
So have tried un-installing Norman that didn't work either.

Have also tried winsock reset, resetting IE7 settings, and running IE7 in
the no ad-ons mode.

I was so relieved to see that other people were experiencing the same
problem, but so far none of the solutions offered has been able to fix my
problem.

So, you geniouses out there, I'm begging for your help!
