fault IE7

I cannot figure out what the deal is with IE7 on my computer. It randomly
crashes, it will freeze out the menu bar and I will be unable to access it,
it will occassionally do unusual things (like randomly remove "Internet
Options" from my "tools" menu along with a few other items) it will not
display any options upon a right-click, pages will not load properly if I
open more than two tabs sometimes.

For my menu bar, if I can right click, I can usually verify that "menu bar"
is selected, however I cannot deselect it while I can still select, deselect,
or reselect any other option and the program will be responsive. niether alt,
nor F10, will bring it up either. The only thing seems to be time as it will
randomly decide to return ... at least so far it has.

For the tab loading, usually I'll have to close down entirely and restart
and it will work. for the right-click options I'll usually have to close the
tab entirely. for tools menu options I had to close the program entirely.
I've tried shutting down and restarting the program and the computer, I did a
RIES to no success. I've run the program without add-ons, and performed
numerous virus scans. Basically all I can think of is that I'd like to just
reinstall but of course that can't be done on Vista. I'm running on a very
new HP laptop.

Thoughts would be much appreciated. My last thought is to simply go Firefox
as it's quite frustrating to have to continuously deal with these issues for
no apparent reason.

Re: fault IE7

Hi,
If running with add-ons disabled didn't help, these problems are probably
caused by malware (spyware, hijackers, trojans, etc)

See these sites for help, including the posting of a HijackThis log to one
of the forums where HJT logs are analyzed:

Look for an "Important- Read this first" type message, at whatever forum you

Hope this helps,

If Norton or McAfee is installed try uninstalling it just as a test. Make
sure the Windows Firewall is on before connecting.
If that fixes it, Avast is free for home users.

Note: "disabling Norton or McAfee is not a test. They must be uninstalled.
