IE7 shows error when installed

For some reason when I install IE7 I keep getting the small yellow
exclamation point in the lower left corner of the screen. So what happens is
the screen that opens first that asks you to select your prefrences won't
save anything I choose, and the tab that says " Applying Your Settings "
looks like it may be working but it doesn't stop so I can't get any further
then this page. So I guess the main thing I need to resolve is installing IE
without getting the exclamation point I mentioned earlier. I'm not sure what
that warning means , maybe a scripting error?. Any help would be GREATLY!!
appreciated.

Re: IE7 shows error when installed

Hello Mr.Russo
Thanks for responding. However I'm having a different problem then what you
mentioned. Whats happenning is when I try and install IE7 it seems to install
fine but as I mentioned I always have that small yellow exclamation point
warning in the lower left corner of the screen. Is that warning about a
scripting error, the same one that used to show a pop up stating " Done but
with Errors on the page. Do you want to continue "?. Also now when I start up
my computer I get notification that there's Updates ready for my comp. and do
I want to install them. When I look to see what the update is it says it's a
" Security Update for Windows XP (KB938127)". If I go ahead and try and
install it the first thing it does is start the installation of IE7. Hope you
can offer me some help with this. Thanks again.

Does the behavior persist in No Add-ons mode?
See:

"Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer's (No Add-ons) Mode".

The next step...
Try to Reset IE7 Settings (RIES).

If still no joy...
Uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6) per

Re: IE7 shows error when installed

Well I can't go to " System Tools " Internet Explorer Add Ons " because it's
not there. It's also not showing that IE6 is even installed either in " All
Programs " or under " Add & Remove Programs ". I'm using an MSN Premium
version offered by my IP and I'm not sure if it uses an earlier version of
Explorer but it defenetly is not IE7. I'll have to try some other way of
solving this problem because I'd really like to be able to use IE7. Any other
things I might try?. Thanks.
