IE7 New Window Size / Resize / Full Screen - etc.

After reading all the posts on this topic, and the "how to's" to "fix" the
problem of new windows not opening full frame, it seems like the designers of
IE got it wrong here.
The solution of having to drag a window to where you want it and then open a
link in that window and then close it using the file menu, etc. - is a work
around - not a real solution to the issue. It seems you should be able to use
the X maximize button to accomplish this, in fact it is desireable to be able
to do it this way because then you don't have to guess whether or not you
actually have enlarged the window to full screen or not.
Firefox doesn't have this issue. You can use the maximize button and FF
remembers where you left off. If you start off minimized, for example, and
then use the maximize button to make the window full screen, and then close
that window it remembers that it was full screen and opens full screen next
time. You don't have to drag the corners around and wonder if you got it to
full screen or not. So if FF can get it right why can't MS / IE?
This is a ridiculous "non-feature" of IE and MS really should fix this. It
has got to be one of the top annoyances with IE judging by the number of
queries on the topic.

Any MS / IE designers want to add to this?

Perhaps others see it differently? Not everyone thinks "...the designers
of IE got it wrong here." Myself, for one.

In any case, and as frustrating as it may be, Microsoft is not able to
incorporate everybody's opinions into their software. Fortunately,
there's no law saying you have to use Internet Explorer as your default
browser, and there's a world of third-party software for you to discover
and try. There's even a convenient link to third-party add-ons in
Internet Explorer 7 to get you started.
