| blurred fonts in IE7 Have just opgraded to Internet Explorer 7. It had the unfortunate result that fonts in the body of web-pages -- and in my Out-look messages -- look blurred and gray-ish. Also the text I am typing just now in the message-box seems out of focus -- makes my eyes very tired. How can this be solved - removing the upgrade...? |

IE7 automatically enables ClearType, stupidly assuming you have an LCD monitor. If you do not have such a monitor, disable ClearType; if you do have such a monitor, tune ClearType to produce better results for your specific monitor. |

| Re: blurred fonts in IE7 ClearType font smoothing is enabled by default in IE 7, since by now a great many users have LCD monitors and most of those appreciate ClearType. Still, no law says you have to use it: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > remove the check mark from "Always use ClearType for HTML". If you have an LCD monitor, before you disable ClearType you might want try out Microsoft's ClearType tuner: http://www.microsoft.com/typography/ClearTypeInfo.mspx --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est xliskl wrote: > Have just opgraded to Internet Explorer 7. > > It had the unfortunate result that fonts in the body of web-pages -- and in > my Out-look messages -- look blurred and gray-ish.
