IE7 Vista Favorites blank

I am using ie 7 with vista. All of a sudden when I click on the star and
Favorites the list is blank. History is OK.

There is a folder named "Favorites" in my C:\Users\Don folder and that
folder does contain all my shortcuts. I have resorted to putting a shortcut
to that folder on my desktop so I can access the favorites but that's
cumbersome. I have read many posts regarding missing favorites but they all
tell you where to find it.

But I have a Favorites folder and it's in the right place. How do I get ie7
to find it?

Read them again. They will show you how to make sure that your
registry is pointing at them.

Find where your registry is pointing to Favorites now.
Alternatively use the Favorites menu, e.g. press Alt-a
choose a Favorite or a folder in it, right-click Properties
and see the path of that object (e.g. in Location: field
on the General tab.)

If Location: is showing the path that you think it should be
you're asking the wrong question. A possible answer to the right question
would be that the Desktop.ini file in your Favorites directory is corrupt.
Etc.

Good luck
