Windows version?
You can't uninstall IE7 in Windows Vista.

Uninstall IE7 ( which automatically returns you to IE6 ) per

I did the Method 1 suggested in 927177, including "After you uninstall
Internet Explorer 7, double-click the Internet Explorer icon to verify that
Internet Explorer 6 is restored."
Well maybe so, but it doesn't work. And no help from that article. Some
symptoms from IE6: popups hang the IE; 50 windows opened at once; just
hangs;...
I have XP with SP2.
please help, thanks.

Re: Uninstalling IE 7

Yes I did. Another factor, perhaps: I had a IE7 window still up when I did
the un-install. But yeah, I did reboot when the system prompted me to.

I have Windows XP and it had IE 6 on it until they pushed out IE 7 in the
latest updates. It's not BAD
I've just seen better browsers.

Hi,
Do you have this registry key?
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{c90250f3-4d7d-4991-9b69-a5c5bc1c2ae6}
Reference: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2005/12/16/504864.aspx
You should not have this key with IE6. It may have been left behind when IE7
was uninstalled.

This: "50 windows opened at once" could be a symptom.

If you find that key in your registry, Export it (just in case) Delete it.
Restart.

If you're not familiar with regedit, please post back or seek help.

Hope this helps,
Don
