IE7 not connecting to internet

After installing IE7 and receiving no errors during the process, I thought I
was good to go. We use IE7 at work, and I love it. Because of that I thought
I would go ahead and get it as well.

Now I can't open anything. It won't display any website. Obviously I am
connected as I am using FireFox right now.

I assumed that installing the latest Windows updates would be a great idea,
but after trying to get to them from the Microsoft website, I can't upload
them from there because I'm not using IE.

I'm not really sure what to do at this point.

Re: IE7 not connecting to internet

Hi,
A very likely cause is an incompatible add-on or third-party security
program (firewall or security suite.)

This, in particular, points to a firewall or security suite.
